Description : A medium-sized evergreen tree. Leaves cordate, acuminate, 15-20 cm, entire, dark green, petiole 3-10 cm long. Flowers yellow with purple base, axillary, solitary or in 2 together on slender 2-7 cm long pedicels, corolla 5-7.5 cm diam,. Fruit a capsule, 2.5 cm diam., depressedly globose, 5-valved.
Distribution : Meritime forests of Cox’s Bazar, Sundarbans, Chittagong and occasionally, planted else where.
