Description : A much-branched herb, about 30 cm high, stem and branches cylindric, with toothed wings, more or less glandular hairy. Leaves sessile, decurrent, 1-5 cm long, obovate-oblong, rounded or subacute, glandular-hairy, spinous-serrate or dentate, narrowed at the base. Heads 1-1.6 cm diam., compound, globose-ovoid, flowers purple.
Distribution : Dhaka, Rajshahi, Chittagong, Noakhali, common in the peddy fields.
