Description : A small prostrate, diffusely branched herb. Leaves 4-17 mm long, oblong, linear, or obovate, sessile or subsessile, stipules hyaline, short, lacerate to the middle, fimbriate. Flowers minute, pink, axillary, solitary or 2-3 together.
Distribution : Weed of cultivated land, throughout the country.
Chemical Constituents : Flowers contain oleanolic acid, betulinic acid, epi-friedelinol, ?-sitosterol, quercetin-3-arabinoside and quercetin-3-rutinoside (Rastogi & Mehrotra, 1993).
Uses : Powdered herb is used internally in pneumonia. Roots are reported to be used in bowel complaints.
