Description : A slender perennial climber with tuberous roots and simple tendrils. Leaves 3.8-10 cm long, broadly ovate in outline, cordate at base, more or less deeply 3-5 lobed. Flowers monoecious, solitary, petals 1.3-2.5 cm long, yellow. Fruit 2.5-6.3 cm long, ellipsoid, shortly beaked, densely echinate with soft spines.
