Disease : Diarrhoea and dysentery.
Description : A large shrub or small evergreen tree. Leaves 10-15 cm long, elliptic-oblong or lanceolate or obovate obtusely and acutely acuminate. Flowers white, small, few or numerous in sessile or peduncled brachiate cymes, broader than long. Fruit globose or didymous, size of a pea.
Distribution : Forests of Chittagong, Chittagong Hill Tracts and Cox’s Bazar.

Uses : The root extract is taken frequently by Chakmas for the treatment of diarrhoea. Tanchangyas use leaf extract for the treatment of dysentery.
Habit : Small tree
