| Description : | A tall handsome deciduous tree with drooping branches. Leaves imparipinnate, 7.5-18 cm long, leaflets 2-3.8 cm long, elliptic or oblong, obtuse. Flowers small, in copious axillary and terminal panicles. Pods 3.8-5 cm long, thin flexible. | 
| Distribution : | Forests of Chittagong, Chittagong Hill Tracts, Sylhet and Dinajpur, in dry areas. | 
| Chemical Constituents : | Leaves and flowers contain ?-Baptigenin. Root bark contains isoflavone glycoside, lanceolarin (Asolkar et al.,1992). | 
| Uses : | Seeds possesses good anti-inflammatory properties. Seed oil is used in rheumatism. The bark is used in dyspepsia. Antiarthritic activity has been observed in different extracts of the plant (Rastogi & Mehrotra, 1990). |
