Description : A small, glabrous, evergreen tree with fairly straight trunk and spreading branches with many large leaf-scars. Leaves 25 cm long, membranous, obovate-obolong or oblanceolate, lightly crenate-denticulate. Flowers distant, in pendulous many-flowered racemes, 30-60 cm long. Fruit ovoid, 4 cm long, obscurely quadrangular below when quite ripe.
Distribution : Occurs in the Sundarbans and other coastal forests.
